In a bold move to enhance education in Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the recruitment of 7,000 teachers for public primary schools. This announcement was made by Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), during a press briefing in Ibadan.
“In fulfilment of his electoral promise and the yearnings of the people of Oyo State, occasioned by the gap of teachers in our public primary schools, Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the recruitment of 7,000 teachers in our public primary schools,” Dr. Adeniran stated.
Additionally, the state will employ 100 caregivers for the special needs sub-sector. Dr. Adeniran highlighted that this recruitment process is part of ongoing efforts to fulfill Governor Makinde’s promises. He urged applicants to seek information directly from the Board to avoid falling victim to scams. “We need to bring this recruitment to the public domain to avoid misleading information by scammers,” he said.
He emphasized that no staff member has been authorized to collect money from applicants and that the recruitment process will be transparent and merit-based. “The stages to follow to have a free, fair, credible exercise will emanate from this Board, signed by me,” Dr. Adeniran assured.
Dr. Adeniran expressed gratitude to Governor Makinde for his dedication to improving education in the state and ensuring the fulfillment of his promises. He mentioned that the Board would soon announce the application dates and work with relevant agencies to ensure a seamless recruitment process. “We will comply strictly with the Governor’s directive to conduct an exercise based on merit,” he concluded.
