In the early hours of Saturday, a tragic accident occurred at Ibafo bus-stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when a truck rammed into a Lagos State BRT bus.
Our correspondent at the scene reported that the accident happened shortly before 6 a.m. Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Police were present, though they deferred comments to their Public Relations Officers.
Unconfirmed reports from onlookers indicated that several passengers on the BRT bus sustained injuries. Witnesses recounted that the BRT bus was parked and loading passengers when the truck, carrying cows and heading to Lagos, crashed into it, pushing the bus off the road and into nearby shops and kiosks.
The cow-laden truck has since been towed away to clear the traffic.
