The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed victory in four out of six Local Government Areas (LGAs) announced so far in the Edo State governorship election. The results were released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through the Returning Officer, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
The PDP’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo, emerged victorious in Esan South East, Ovia North East, Uhunmwonde, and Igueben LGAs. Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, won in Esan West and Owan West LGAs.

With these results, the race has now narrowed down to a tight contest between PDP’s Asue Ighodalo and APC’s Monday Okpebholo. As the remaining LGAs’ results are expected to roll in, all eyes remain on the outcome to determine who will become Edo’s next governor.
