Health and Safety Advisory
NiMet cautioned the public about suspended dust particles, which could affect individuals with respiratory conditions such as asthma.
“People with asthmatic health conditions and other respiratory issues should exercise caution during this period,” the agency warned.
Additionally, the agency advised residents in areas prone to thunderstorms to prepare for strong winds that might precede rainfall.
Advice for Travelers and Residents
NiMet urged airline operators to secure airport-specific weather reports for effective planning. The agency also encouraged the public to stay informed through its official website, www.nimet.gov.ng, and follow updates on weather conditions.
“Adhere to safety advisories issued by relevant authorities,” NiMet advised.
