A plastic store in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, went up in flames on Tuesday, sending residents fleeing in panic as thick smoke billowed across the neighbourhood. Firefighters rushed to the scene and spent hours battling to contain the blaze before bringing it under control.
Eyewitnesses said the fire started suddenly and spread rapidly through the shop, where large quantities of plastic goods were stored. The fast-moving flames forced nearby residents and business owners to evacuate the area as the heat intensified.
By the time firefighters arrived, the entire shop had been engulfed. The cause of the fire remains unclear, though investigations are ongoing. No deaths or serious injuries were reported, though the exact extent of the damage to the store and nearby properties is still being assessed.
