Senator Monday Okpebholo, representing Edo Central, has emerged as the victor in the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial direct primary in Edo.
The announcement was made by Cross River Governor Bassey Otu, who served as the Chairperson of the Edo APC preliminary election, following the tally of votes from all 18 local government areas.
The vote counting and official declaration took place at the Lushville Hotel and Suites, located on Gapiona Avenue within the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of Benin.
Okpebholo secured a total of 12,433 votes, surpassing Dennis Idahosa, the Ovia constituency’s representative in the House of Representatives, who received 6,541 votes.
