Adedeji Adeleke, father of renowned Nigerian musician Davido, has announced plans to complete the construction of Nigeria’s largest power plant. Speaking at the Seventh Day Adventist General Conference Annual Council, Adeleke disclosed that his current power plant already generates around 15% of Nigeria’s electricity supply.

Adeleke, who is a key player in the energy sector, revealed that the new 1,250MW thermal power plant will be the biggest of its kind in the country. The project is being carried out in collaboration with Chinese engineering firms, with the completion date set for January 2025.

“In Nigeria, I am in the electricity business; I own a power plant, and presently, I generate about 15% of the electricity needs for Nigeria. I have Chinese engineering companies that work,” he stated, adding, “I am building and almost completed, by the grace of God, my new power plant to be the biggest power plant in Nigeria.”
