Nollywood is getting wider recognition. With the best of Nigerian movies being shown in the cinemas, audiences worldwide are becoming aware that our films can be compared to those of Hollywood and Bollywood in terms of quality.
Lending credence to this fact is Netflix’s latest acquisition of the second Merry Men movie, which is due for release later in the year.
The news was shared on Instagram by comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, who posted a video of himself breaking the good news to his fellow cast members, Ramsey Nouah Jr., Williams Uchemba, Jim Iyke and Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana.
Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons (the first part released in 2018) tells the tale of four rich men who seduce powerful women, get contracts from the political elite, and engage in other vices. They face their biggest challenge when they find themselves pitted against a notorious and corrupt politician who plans to demolish a village in order to build a shopping mall.
The movie was directed by Toka McBaror.
