National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, described the just concluded election in Bayelsa as the most peaceful and transparent election in the state since 1999.
The APC chairman made this known on Thursday after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Oshiomhole said, “I believe since 1999, you as very seasoned journalists who have covered elections in Bayelsa in the past, you will agree that this is the only time we can say the election is truly transparent and peaceful.”
Oshiomhole stated that Buhari had insisted that the party play by the rules and ensure a transparent process despite its determination to win the election
“The president has always been concerned about peaceful election and we were proud to inform him that besides very isolated cases of ballot box snatching, the election in Bayelsa can be described as the most peaceful.”
