Buhari Writes National Assembly, Seeks Approval To Borrow $30bn Abroad

President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate to consider and approve his plans to borrow $30 billion abroad.

The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, read the letter at the plenary on Thursday.

President Buhari requests the National Assembly to consider and approve the Federal Government 2016, 2018 external borrowing plan.

Recall that a similar request was rejected by the Saraki led eight assembly.

Then, the president requested to borrow the $30 billion abroad for infrastructure projects and budget support until 2018.
