Beverly Hills Cop 4 is officially happening and Dolemite Is My Name star Eddie Murphy is poised to return in the role of Axel Foley.
Murphy’s career-defining performance in Dolemite has put him in the movie spotlight again after a period of hiatus, and the comic actor first announced last month that he would feature in a fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie.
Netflix has acquired the rights to the sequel so subscribers will enjoy it when it arrives. The company is facing competition now more than ever (especially with the recent launch of Disney’s streaming platform) and the new project could give them some reprieve.
Beverly Hills Cop is a series of American action comedy movies that star Eddie Murphy as the Detroit cop who goes to Beverly Hills, California to investigate crimes, not minding that they fall outside his jurisdiction.
