Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill has recently clarified his current status with the role of Superman, stating that the role is still his.
Cavill played DC’s most iconic superhero in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League and unfortunately, the movies got mixed reviews and for some time, the actor’s future with the character was in doubt.
In Men Health’s December cover story, Cavill said he wasn’t going to sit in the dark while things are going on, adding that there was still a lot of storytelling to do.
The cape is in the closet. It’s still mine. I’m not going to sit quietly in the dark as all the stuff is going on. I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honest of the character I wasn’t to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.Henry Cavill
Let us hope to see Superman soon again on the big screen as Cavill’s portrayal, even though somewhat different, was earnest and charismatic.
