Idris Elba Starring In Netflix’s ‘The Harder They Fall’

Idris Elba will star in The Harder They Fall, a Jay-Z produced movie from Netflix.

The film will be helmed by British musician Jeymes Samuel in his directorial debut, having worked with Jay-Z on the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby. The Harder They Fall will incorporate music as a major theme as well.

In The Harder They Fall, an outlaw called Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) finds out that the man (Elba) who murdered his parents has just come out of prison and enlists the help of his gang to exact revenge on him.

Jay-Z, Jeymes Samuel, James Lassiter, and Lawrence Bender will produce.

Idrissa Akuna Elba is an English actor, writer, producer, musician, DJ, rapper, and singer. He is known for roles in the HBO series The Wire, the BBC One series Luther, and Nelson Mandela in the biographical movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013).

Elba has received 4 Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film and has won one. He was also nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy Award.

He played Heimdall in Marvel’s Thor movies and in Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
