Kaduna: Appeal Court Validates El-Rufai’s Election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna has validated the emergence of Nasiru El-Rufai as the winner of the 2019 governorship elections in the state.

The court noted that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Isa Muhammed Ashiru,did not provide enough evidence to prove his case.

The election tribunal had on September 9, 2019 upheld the declaration of Nasiru El-Rufai as winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Dissatisfied with the judgement of the Election Tribunal, the PDP candidate, Alhaji Isa Muhammed Ashiru appealed the judgement of the tribunal.

The Justices of the appeal court however upheld confirmed their stance on the order.

The five-man panel of justices are made up of UI Anyanwu, HAO Abiru, TY Hassan, BM Ugo and BB Aliyu.
