Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu, 51, representing Imo North senatorial district slumped at his Apo residence in Abuja.
The APC chieftain, however, died while being taking to a private hospital.
According to TheNation, his death was confirmed to journalists outside the Senate chamber on Wednesday by the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha.
Benjamin Uwajumogu is a member of the All Progressives Congress.
