Hollywood actress Kate Beckinsale has shared what she believes is the secret to a happy marriage.
The 46-year-old Underworld star is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Women’s Health magazine and in an interview with them, said that more married people would do well if they didn’t have to live in the same house.
The popular actress who was married to filmmaker Len Wiseman from 2004 to 2016 stated that being married was easy but “living with the person thing” was a lot.
I also think that for women especially — and this is generalizing — but I think it’s common for us to mentally subjugate our needs to whoever else is in the room. So if you’ve got a husband, a boyfriend, kids or parents, it’s so easy to come in with an idea of what you’d like to do, and then end up going, ‘Oh no, no, no, it’s fine.’ And it’s quite nice to not always have to negotiate that.Kate Beckinsale
Beckinsale further noted that being goofy and going out instead of just staying at home and waiting for menopause was preferable and that the former was ridiculous to her.
She also said that many men her age were going out and doing whatever they wanted without being questioned and that no one ever asks why they don’t have more kids or why they have many girlfriends.
