British actor Daniel Radcliffe is reportedly in talks to star in the Disney + upcoming series Moon Knight.
Radcliffe is known for his portrayal of Harry Potter in the movie franchise and speculation that he might play the title role in the series comes from Marvel scooper Daniel Richtman.
Richtman’s post was brief but is an indication that the actor is being considered for the part. The words simply say: “Daniel Radcliffe is one name in the mix for Moon Knight.”
The above caption doesn’t confirm anything yet so fans shouldn’t get their hopes just yet. It only means that Radcliffe’s name is among those in the running to bring the character to life.
In the comics, Marc Spector (a.k.a. Moon Knight) is a CIA agent who becomes a mercenary who is left for dead by a former colleague.
Spector manages to drag himself through the sands of the desert to the tomb of the Egyptian moon god, Konshu where he is pronounced dead on arrival.
The protagonist is resurrected and a multiple personality disorder is added as a bonus and going back to New York City, creates two personas – Steven Grant and Jake Lockley.
Grant is the millionaire womanizer while Lockley is the hustling cab driver. With these two personalities, he assumes the mantle of the Moon Knight (with increased physical abilities and the occasional prophetic night visions).
It’s a role that Radcliffe could play well and it would be fascinating to see how that plays out. But then again, it’s only speculation at this point.
