Gbenro Ajibade is a Nigerian actor, producer, model, and presenter, in an interview countered the series of accusations about him getting married to his colleague Osas Ighoduro who is an American citizen to get visa passport.
He said; a lot of people believe that my marriage was arranged by me in other to get a blue passport “American passport” some belief, I have gotten what I wanted and opted out of the marriage. Whichever way everyone is entitled to their opinions. But believe me, I wouldn’t go through the process of been married for 4 years and I don’t want to disclose the actual month we got divorced but it is this year.
We did a traditional wedding, involve families, did our white in New York. Do you know how much I spent? I know why people came up with all of that, but that’s bullets I know I would collect. Our marital issues started when we started having kids. I wear shoes too, so I know what it feels like and I always try to be that good, responsible man.”
On his relationship with his ex-wife, he said “we are still good but, unfortunately, decisions were made, I had to agree, so we are good. I still have that love and respect for her, regardless. She is still a good woman. The fact that it didn’t work out won’t make me say otherwise.
You won’t understand. However, If not for anything, we have a child, an innocent child. The fact that my marriage crashed is not because we are both in the same industry. I can still marry from the entertainment industry.
Also sharing his love for cooking, the fine boy actor says he learned the skills from his mum who made sure they as boys they were useful in the kitchen.
