The 2020 edition of the British Academy Films Awards (BAFTAs) has compiled their nominations list and DC’s Joker and Netflix’s The Irishman lead the pack.
The BAFTAs was founded in 1947 by a group of directors and is an independent charity that supports, develops, and promotes film, television, and games.
The 73rd event will be held on February 2, 2020, at the Royal Albert Hall in London and filmmakers and movie stars will receive recognition for their contributions.
The nominations list was announced today January 7, 2020, and Joker is in the lead with 11 nominations, followed by The Irishman and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood tied in second place with 10 each.
1917, the war drama from Sam Mendes comes in third, having secured 9 nominations, Jojo Rabbit earning 6 is in fourth place, while Marriage Story, The Two Popes, and Little Women earned 5 apiece.
