‘Game Of Thrones’ Spinoff Begins Its Search For Lead Actors
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON will feature Aegon and his sisters

House of the Dragon, the spinoff series based on the history of HBO’s Game of Thrones, has begun casting calls for the prequel series.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire and Blood, the upcoming series is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones with a focus on the troubled house of Targaryen.

Attached to the production are showrunners Ryan Condal (who is the screenwriter) and director Miguel Sapochnik (who helmed some of the episodes of the original series).

According to a report by Knight Edge Media, HBO has begun calling for actors to fill in the roles of the series’ main lead characters, revealing a few details which fans will find interesting.

Emilia Clarke played Daenarys Targaryen on GAME OF THRONES

The character descriptions are shown below:

Aegon Targaryen20s, Caucasian Male. Married his two sisters VISENYA and RHAENYS. Withdrawn, quiet, pious. Harsh with those who defy him. Riding the dragon Balerion. LEAD

Visenya Targaryen20s, Caucasian Female. Older sister and wife of King AEGON TARGARYEN. A voluptuous, stern, serious, and unforgiving woman. Riding the dragon Vhagar. LEAD

Rhaenys Targaryen20s, Caucasian Female. Youngest sister of King AEGON TARGARYEN. Kindhearted, graceful, playful, curious, impulsive, and given to flights of fancy, with a mischievous aspect to her personality. Riding the dragon Meraxes. LEAD

Given that Aegon (according to the history shared in Game of Thrones) married his sisters, it would be fascinating to see how that plays out onscreen as the people being ruled will definitely frown upon the act, paving the way for the contempt that many went on to hold for House Targaryen.

Famous for their golden locks, the last true Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) died in the last episode of the final season of Game of Thrones (Jon Snow was a Targaryen but he doesn’t really count because of his Stark ancestry) and the actors who will portray their ancestors will no doubt have their defining physical traits.

Another wonderful thing to see is the dragons in all their majestic ferocity as the three siblings have one each. Fans can be assured that there will be a reign of fire when House of the Dragon arrives!
