Marvel’s Hawkeye is scheduled to being shooting in July 2020, with star Jeremy Renner set to return as the skilled archer.
It’s all about creating more content for viewers on Disney + and the upcoming show joins others like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision to continue the stories of MCU’s heroes on the streaming platform.
Clint Barton (a.k.a. Hawkeye) is one of the founding members of the Avengers who lost his entire family in the decimation brought about by Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Endgame.
The loss of his family took Clint on a darker path and he was only brought back by the timely intervention of his friend Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson).
Hawkeye was ready to lay down his life so that the soul stone could be acquired and if not for Natasha who succeeded in foiling the attempt by dying in his stead, his would have been among the lost lives.
The upcoming series is a big deal for the archer because he is the only Avenger who doesn’t have a movie (Natasha is getting hers when Black Widow arrives on May 1, 2020).
The show will see Barton work with the character of Kate Bishop from the comics. The announcement was made earlier and at a time singer and actress Hailee Steinfeld was offered the role but her involvement in the Apple TV + series Dickinson made her doubtful of accepting the part.
A release date for Hawkeye hasn’t been revealed but we know that it’s going to be beyond the fall 2020 period.
