Nigerian actress and scriptwriter Omoni Oboli has stated on her Instagram page how she is a very ambitious person and has learned to stop apologizing for being that way.
Omoni began her movie career with her first movie role in Bitter Encounter (1996), where she played a secretary. She has acted in other starring roles and left the movie industry to complete her university education. She got married immediately after school and did not return to the industry until a decade later.
She became the first actress from Nollywood to win Best Actress in two international festivals in the same year (2010).
She took to her page where she posted a picture stating how ambitious she is, stating that it’s something she can’t keep apologizing for.
She said;
I’m a very ambitious person and I’ve learnt to stop apologizing for it.
I also believe very strongly that we can ALL win together.
If you think bringing someone else down is the only way you can climb, darling, that’s witchcraft right there!
We are all striving to be better than we were yesterday. Stop talking about other people! HUSTLE on your lane!!! I’m not going to dump down to make you feel better. Get up let’s go!
