Nigerians have continued to express anger over the alleged killing of a mechanic in Rivers by some officials of the Nigerian Police Force in the state.
Odunews.com had earlier reported how the mechanic was allegedly tortured to death after being arrested alongside four other persons.
Nigerians have continued to call out the Police to release those still in the police custody as well as arrest the policemen responsible for Chima’s death.
Chima and the others were arrested by officers of the Mile One Police Station in Port Harcourt, Rivers state over alleged car theft. Reports have it that Chima was tortured to death while in Police custody.
The Rivers state Police Command stated that the autopsy carried out revealed that he died of high sugar level. Nigerians have however rejected the claims of the police demanding that the police officers involved in his arrest and eventual death should be brought to book.
Below are some reactions by Nigerians:
I fear Nigerian police more than robbers, sadly. The people that are supposed to protect us are feeding on us like hungry blood thirsty lions. #JusticeForChima

Police Force were established to protect human lives and properties , but here in Nigeria they play a different role, we fear them more than armed rubbers.

The Nigeria Criminal Justice System is riddled with corruption and injustice, from the policing agencies, to the correctional service, to the court. The people might one day seek an alternative route to justice. #JusticeForChima pic.twitter.com/YSFluC8V3x

In the face of tainted evidence of ‘no stolen car’ & ‘confessions obtained from torture’,…these @PoliceNG officers are still in uniform, going about as if a Nigerian was not murdered in their custody: https://t.co/qn9wEBgnzD#JusticeForChima #EndPoliceBrutality pic.twitter.com/3tHM4n3xwu

His wife has no parents, he's her husband, mother and father. His parents have not seen their son's body or atom of truth of his whereabouts, the owner of the car has come out openly to say his car was not stolen.
