Kobe Bryant’s death has led to a steady stream of tributes, support for his bereaved family and condolences, with singer and actor Justin Timberlake being among the latest to recall his last conversation with the late star.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Timberlake talked about the first time he met Kobe (they were both teenagers then) and disclosed how they bonded.
Timberlake recalls how he was awed by Kobe’s basketball skills and mentality as he watched the sportsman do things considered humanly unimaginable.
The singer stated that his association with the late legend inspired him to grow for himself as Kobe dubbed himself ‘Vino’ (a name that represented the process of aging gracefully like a fine wine).
Timberlake further remembers that the last conversation the two of them had was about being fathers; what it meant, who their children were and the legacy they would leave behind.
