Nominations have been announced for the 51st Annual National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Awards 2020.
The recognition honors the achievements of people of color in the arts as well as individuals who promote social justice through creative endeavors.
The event will be hosted by actor and comedian Anthony Anderson and will take place on February 22, 2020, airing on BET. Honors will also be given to those in music and literature while also making room for the unique prize of Entertainer of the Year.
In the movie category, Us, Dolemite Is My Name, Queen & Slim, Hustlers, and Just Mercy all got nominations while the following were represented on television shows; Watchmen, Dear White People, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Black Monday, Pose, This Is Us, True Detective, When They See Us, Saturday Night Live, and Rhythm + Flow.
