A limited series inspired by the classic story of Peter Pan is being developed by the SYFY Channel.
The upcoming series is titled The League of Pan and will reveal the adventures of a group of children who have refused to grow up.
Developed by Brian McCauley Johnson, the story picks up with the characters in the fable having lived on the mainland for ten years. Now grown up, the group must return to Neverland to confront a new evil that threatens the existence of the magical place they once called home.
The series will also deal with the painful truths that are part of growing up and the realization that going back home isn’t as simple as one often thinks.
President, Original Content, NBC Universal Entertainment Networks, Bill McGoldrick stated:
The stories of Peter Pan, The Lost Boys and the Darlings have provided us with epic tales of gallantries and escapism for generations. Now, Syfy is developing an original take on the classic, setting the limited series in uncharted lands, making for new adventures and showcasing these characters like you’ve never seen them before.
Peter Pan, the boy who can’t grow up, was first portrayed on the big screen in the 1953 animated fantasy film produced by Walt Disney. The titular character was voiced by Bobby Driscoll.
