Fireboy DML seems to always find beauty in the most bizarre places but in Vibration video, the crazy combination is just what the song needs.
Vibration is an afro-pop track that isn’t embellished with too much because as they say, ‘Too many ingredients spoil the soup.’ The rising YBNL singer doesn’t go the usual way to grab your attention. His vocals alone do that effectively. You just have to sit back and watch him make you believe in his craft.
As he sings, a female adorned in body paint blows the trumpet while dancers move their bodies rhythmically to a beat so sensational it’s hard to explain why it carries you away.
Fireboy DML seems to have an affinity for the strange; in one of his earlier clips, he channeled the character of the Joker and here, he does the unusual by fusing elements of ballet dance with afrobeat to give a welcome absurdity to it all.
The chaotic beauty of the visuals is shown when vibrant colors are sprayed on the singer and his dancers as they take the gyration outdoors, enjoying the music while snow falls down on them.
Later on, Fireboy pays homage to the late King of Pop Michael Jackson by executing a few of his dance moves while wearing a costume that isn’t too far from one of those the late icon was known for.
With the energy of youth and his affinity with the odd, the young singer exhibits the signs of one is on the path of explosion in an effort that may not be what is accepted as normal but is a radical departure borne out of creativity.
