Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church Nigeria has been relieved of his position over an alleged affair with a woman in the United States.
The cleric was found guilty of having an affair with the lady who goes by the name Mrs. Maurrissal Nwosu by a panel presided over by former Lagos District Superintendent Rev. Isaac Mpamugo, and was dismissed after the submission of the report by the panel.
The dismissal was announced yesterday in the church’s General Committee emergency sitting, where the disgraced reverend was accused of going against Bible principles and the Constitution and Bye-Laws of the church.
Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor has been directed to hand over all the church’s property in his possession as Rev. Ejikeme Ejim has been appointed as the Acting General Superintendent of the church.
