President Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and former President Goodluck Jonathan all consoled with Senator Ben Murray Bruce over the death of his wife.
Odunews.com had earlier reported that the former Senator announced the tragic demise of his wife after battling with cancer.
In a statement by Presidential aide, Garba Shehu, President Muhammadu Buhari shared ‘heartfelt sorrow with Senator Ben Murray-Bruce on the loss of his wife of 41 years, Evelyn’.
“The President prays God to comfort the Senator, who represented Bayelsa East in the 8th Assembly, the children left by the deceased, and the entire family.
Urging them to take solace in the quality of life lived by the departed, President Buhari beseeches God to soothe their pains, and grant succour to all those who mourn Mrs Evelyn Murray-Bruce”, the statement reads.
Also, former President Goodluck Jonathan sent a condolence message to the former Bayelsa East Senator.
The statement reads:
“I commiserate with you and your family on the demise of your beloved wife, Evelyn Murray-Bruce.
“I know her death is a great loss to you and many loved ones around her, as she was a pillar of strength and support to the entire Murray-Bruce family and the Silverbird Group.
“This is a trying time for your family and many associates as her death has created a big vacuum, but I urge you to take solace in the fact that she lived an impactful life while on earth.
“May God comfort your family and sustain your home with peace, love and hope. On behalf of my family, please accept my sincere condolences.”
Reacting to the news, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar via his twitter handle said:
“My good friend and brother, @benmurraybruce, on behalf of my family, I extend our deepest condolences. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. May her beautiful soul rest in peace,”
