US rapper Cardi B has hinted at the possibility of celebrities being made to say that they have the coronavirus when in actuality they don’t.
The past few weeks have seen different stars come out to say they have the dreaded virus, amongst them Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina Dhowre, and NBA player Kevin Durant.
Cardi B went live on Instagram where she shared her frustration, wondering how she was supposed to know if those that claim they have COVID-19 really do as sometimes they don’t exhibit all the symptoms.
She said:
“Let’s say if I have the coronavirus right now. How am I supposed to know I got it because sometimes I be like, ‘If y’all have a cough, you have it. But then I be seeing these basketball players say like, ‘Yeah, I have the coronavirus, but I don’t got no symptoms.’ So how the fu*k am I supposed to know when I’m supposed to get tested for it? Y’all ni**as is playing with me. That’s my problem right there.”
Going further, the hip hop star questioned the authenticity of celebs claiming they have the virus:
“I’m starting to feel like y’all ni**as is paying ni**as to say that they got it.
She also didn’t mince words about wanting to be included if her colleagues were getting paid to deceive people about having the coronavirus, stating:
“And if y’all are paying ni**as to say that they got it, pay me too. Bitch tryna get paid.”
