Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has left Awe town in Nasarawa state alongside the Governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai.
Sanusi who was dethroned by the Kano Government was banished to Awe.
He however approached the Abuja Federal High Court to challenge his confinement. Ruling in his favour, Justice Anwuli Chikere ordered that the former Central Bank of Nigeria Chairman be released immediately.
Sanusi who had earlier led the Friday Juma’at prayer in the community is leaving the town with the El-Rufai.
El-Rufai arrived the town to visit the deposed Emir, a long-time friend, around 12:30noon.
There are reports that the former Emir and the Kaduna Governor are set to be heading to Abuja.
