How I Almost Died Rock Climbing – Actor Jared Leto

A lot of movie fans know the actor known as Jared Leto, but few are actually aware that he is an avid rock climber.

The movie star who played the role of DC’s Joker before Joaquin Phoenix went back through memory lane to recall how he almost lost his life in 2017.

As a talented performer and skilled rock climber, Leto (48) has disclosed that it’s one of his best hobbies climbing rocks, and he and his partners get a kick out of it.

In 2017, Leto was climbing with Alex Honnold when he fell and the rope almost got cut by a sharp piece of rock as he dangled 600 feet in the air.

The actor reflected back on the incident with two Twitter posts in which he shared a selfie from high up on the Red Rock Canyon.

The Suicide Squad actor wrote:

“Not to sound dramatic, but this is the day I nearly died. Took a pretty good fall climbing with @AlexHonnold at Red Rock. Looked up and within seconds the rope was being cut by the rock while I dangled some 600 ft in the air. I remember looking down at the ground below.

It was a strange moment – less fear, more matter of fact, and slightly melancholy. The adrenaline came after, when I got back on the wall. But we made it through and lived to see another day. Overall it was actually quite fun. we continued climbing into the night…”
