Youth Parliament Partners With Lagos State On Technology-driven Transportation

The Lagos State Youth Parliament on Wednesday, March 4 met with the Special Adviser to the state government on Innovation, Tubosun Alake to discuss on how to drive transportation with technology.

Present at the meeting were; the special adviser on innovation to the Lagos State Government Tubosun Alake and the Lagos State Youth Parliament chairman committee on transportation and infrastructure.

Hon. Oluwafemi Ojo and Committee members spoke extensively on the involvement of technology and innovation in transportation also with regards to collaboration with the SA on our town hall meeting coming up on how technology and innovation is important in transportation and infrastructure development.

Mr Tubosun Alake spoke about the Lagos innovation master plan for innovation and technology, saying the Lagos state government is ready to take the Ecosystem serious. He further explained the Lagos state innovation master plan was executed on four main Pillars- (Access, Infrastructure, funding And Talents) set to address most of the issue currently facing the Tech and innovative industry. He spoke about the Open source program to help empower youths coming up later in the year. He raised the awareness of the Lagos innovation funds, which is to fund innovative startups in Lagos. He said the www.lagossolutionhub.com was set up to collect and empower innovation and strengthen the Lagos innovation startup.

Tubosun Alake, responded to the question with regard to the ban on Okada and tricycle in Lagos saying the Lagos state took the decision on three main purposes (safety, security and Environment) and that the government is currently on the drawing board addressing the issue to put out a resolution to the problem.

Special Adviser to the governor of Lagos state on innovation and technology was happy to see the Lagos state youth parliament chairman on transportation and infrastructure Hon Femi Ojo Daniel and the team and was open to work with us stakeholders in the transportation and infrastructure sector.
