Nollywood actor Pa Kasumu, who passed away on March 1, 2020, will be buried on Friday, April 3, 2020.
The burial ceremony will take place in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where his remains will be finally interred.
The date was announced by Nollywood star Yomi Fabiyi on his social media page in the early hours of Wednesday, March 4, 2020.
Pa Kasumu died after a brief illness at the age of 67. He had been battling heart, liver, and kidney problems. He died in Lantoro in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Actress Foluke Daramola-Salako described the late veteran as principled and professional. She had him as one of the beneficiaries of her initiative tagged ‘Nolly Veteran SOS Project 2019’. It was meant for ailing and aging Nollywood veterans.
He was a very strict and principled man who was able to combine comedy with serious role(s). He would never take any role for granted. He distinguished himself out among others.
I wasn’t close to the actor initially until I saw the need to help him and create a reminder in people’s mind on the status of the actor’s health.
Doctors said he was recuperating last week but he had a relapse for which he was rushed to the hospital. He had gone to ease him in the hospital this afternoon and died when he came back to his hospital bed.- Foluke daramola-salako
Pa Kasumu was born on March 16, 1953, in the Agbeni area of Ibadan, Oyo State. He hails originally from Ogun State.
His acting career started when he was 15 years old and he featured in more than 100 movies, including Sango: The Legendary African King. He is survived by his wife and children.
