Deputy President of the Senate Ovie Omo-Agege has started distribution of N85 million cash as palliatives to households in his Delta Central Senatorial district to reduce the effects of the coronavrius lockdown.
The move was made known in a statement signed by Omo-Agege’s Senior Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Mr. Yomi Odunuga.
The statement revealed that N5,000 would be given to 17,000 households beginning from Kokori Inland in Ethiope East Local Government Area (one of the eight local government areas which make up the senatorial district.
Odunuga said that the exercise was being conducted by one Innocent Anidi and was without discrimination.
200 households from each of the 85 wards in the senatorial district would benefit from the gesture.
Omo-Agege in his message to his constituents, appealed to them to take the threat of the coronavirus seriously and obey health instructions which aimed at curbing its spread.
