A Nigerian journalist Olutade Oluwatosin Simon has called on the federal government to come to the aid of veteran broadcaster and actor Sadiq Daba as he is on the verge of losing one of his eyes.
The actor’s health has deteriorated in the past few years and now Oluwatosin has taken to Twitter to advocate for help on his behalf.
He wrote:
“Sadiq Daba is still sick. Yesterday he reached out, he was still ill and on the verge of losing one of his eyes. It is a tough time as the government is battling COVID-19 but I will blame myself if I don’t do this and something happens to him.”

Daba was diagnosed with Leukemia and prostate cancer two years ago and billionaire businessman Femi Otedola had announced that he would foot the ailing actor’s medical bills.
Sadiq Daba came into the limelight in the 1980s on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
He starred in Kunle Afolayan’s movie ‘October 1’.
