The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Rivers state has increased to 79 after the state recorded 26 fresh infections of Wednesday.
The country reported 284 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, according to NCDC, taking the total confirmed cases to 6,677 as of May 20 at 11:20 p.m.
It said that the new cases were recorded by 12 states and the FCT with Lagos accounting for 199 cases, and Rivers 26.
A further breakdown of the figure showed that Oyo had 19 cases, and that the FCT and Borno had eight cases each, Plateau, seven, Jigawa six, while Kano recorded five cases. Others are Abia with two cases whereas the states of Ekiti, Delta, Kwara, and Taraba registered one case each.
