President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled his planned nationwide address today.
Presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina disclosed this in a tweet on Monday.
No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps,” Mr Adesina wrote.
Odunews.com had earlier reported that National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force in COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, while appearing on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, disclosed that the President would address the nation on Monday, following the end of the first phase of the gradual easing of the lockdown.
According to him, the president is to decide on whether or not the country should go ahead with the second phase of the easing of the lockdown.
