After several long weeks of complete shutdown, Hollywood actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry is ready to reopen his Atlanta studio this summer.
As confirmed by Variety, production at Tyler Perry Studios on BET’s Sistas will begin on July 8, 2020, with The Oval kicking off on July 28, 2020.
BET announced that 22 episodes for both shows have been ordered on Tuesday, and shooting for each series will take place over two and a half weeks.
A source told Variety that Perry is doing everything by the book when it comes to his plan of reopening his studio and is working closely with local officials and unions to execute his plan to restart production with safety measures being put in place.
Most of the crew on Sistas and The Oval are based in Atlanta and Perry will fly in cast members with his private jet from New York and Los Angeles after they have undergone COVID-19 tests.
Upon their arrival in Atlanta, the cast will head straight to the set where they alongside the crew will immediately be tested again for coronavirus, awaiting their results before being cleared to work.
