It seems Naira Marley isn’t going to walk away easily from his defiance of the coronavirus restrictions as he is set to be prosecuted for his recent concert.
The Soapy crooner and former BBNaija housemate Kim Oprah had flouted the COVID-19 restrictions by flying to Abuja for a concert that saw many Nigerians turn up to witness what was supposed to be a drive-in.
Now, according to an announcement made by the FCT minister, Muhammad Bello, on Tuesday, June 17, 2020, Naira Marley will be prosecuted alongside those who featured and entertained the crowd at the Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja.
In a press statement released by the minister’s Chief Press Secretary, Anthony Ogunleye, Bello said that the FCT administration views the actions of the organizers and attendees at the concert as reckless, wicked, insensitive, and utter disrespect and disregard for both the law and wellbeing of fellow citizens.
Bello urged residents of the FCT to observe health guidelines given by the authorities, pointing out that they were violated at the drive-in concert.
He said:
The FCT Administration which has a responsibility to protect the lives of the citizenry is determined to prosecute all those involved in orchestrating these infractions to the full extent of the law”.
