The state’s Commissioner for Health, Ali Inname, made this known on Friday.

He said the patients were from eight local government areas of the state and that 85 percent of them were males.

The first case of COVID-19 was recorded in the state on April 19. Between then and May 23, the state confirmed 115 cases of the disease while 14 deaths were recorded.

The commissioner said the committee’s activities would continue as many test results were still pending, adding that 839 alerts have been received across the state and all of them were investigated.

He added that testing of suspected COVID-19 patients would continue, noting that any positive person detected would be taken to the isolation centre.

He urged residents to continue to patronise hospitals as service delivery had fully resumed “in recognition of the fact that access to healthcare had declined due to the coronavirus pandemic”.

The commissioner also advised the residents to abide by the safety guidelines of wearing face masks, constant washing of hands with soap, using sanitisers as well as observing physical distance.
