Former Presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, says Nigeria is still being run by those who murdered Moshood Abiola.
Sowore made the comment while reacting to a video posted on twitter where he was addressing people during late Abiola’s burial in 1998.
President Muhammadu Buhari had declared June 12 as Nigeria’s democracy day to commemorate the annuled June 12, 1993 election which has been tagged the freest and fairest election in Nigeria’s history.
Moshood Abiola, winner of the election later died on June 8, 1998 at the Presidential Villa in Also Rock.
The Government identified the cause of his death as a sudden heart attack although many Nigerians believed he was killed by the powers-that-be.
Reacting to a Twitter post where he was addressing people during late Abiola’s burial in 1998, Sowore said those who killed Abiola are still in power and would likely be there ‘tomorrow’.
He said: This was during MKO Abiola’s burial in 1998! The people who betrayed, jailed and murdered him are/were the ones in power yesterday, today and likely tomorrow, they will continue their murderous trade until…#RevolutionNow
