FG Announces Dates of Examinations for Students in Exit Classes

The federal government on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 released an extensive timetable detailing the duration of the various national examinations which are to begin on August 17, 2020. The information was announced by the Minister of State for Education Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba after multiple meetings with the chief executives of the various examination bodies.

The examinations are set to hold from the 17th of August to the 18th of November 2020 with the WAEC SSCE examination kicking them off from the 17th of August.

The JSS3 NECO BECE examinations are to begin on the 24th of August and end on the 7th of September, the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) examinations are to start on the 21st of September and end on the 15th of October, the NECO SSCE examinations are to run from the 5th of October and end on the 18th of November, the National Common Entrance Examination is to hold on the 17th of October and the National Board for Arabic and Islamic studies (NBAIS) examinations are to commence on the 23rd of September and end on the 17th of October.

The press release also contained information about registration for the NECO SSCE examinations. It was stated that the ongoing registration is due to end on the 10th of September 2020 and no extensions will be granted.

It also contained instructions to parents and exam candidates on safety measures expected of them on the examination date. All parents and candidates are required to wear face masks as well as have with them alcohol based hand sanitizers.
