Tenet actress Elizabeth Debicki has revealed that filmmaker Christopher Nolan ran the movie set like an indie one.
One of the most anticipated films of 2020, Tenetb boasts an impressive cast that includes John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, Elizabeth Debicki, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
As is usual with Nolan’s films, Tenet is a mind-bending thriller that involves a man (Washington) attempting to stop a third world war.
Variety reports that Debicki discloses that the feeling she got on the set of the film was that of an indie movie as director Nolan worked with precision.
Her words:
He has this ability to make a film that involves complex thinking and yet make it entertaining and accessible. It’s almost got the feel of an indie set because of the precision — Chris works very fast; time and energy are spent on all the right things there. There is nothing superfluous. It was humbling and collaborative and definitely made me stronger as an actor and probably as a person.”
Tenet will be released in movie theaters on August 12, 2020.
The script for the sequel to Netflix hit Extraction is already being written.
The news should come as a welcome one for fans who can’t wait for things to start rolling on the second part of what turned out to be one of the hottest offerings on the streaming platform.
Joe Russo, one of the brothers responsible for the biggest movie of all time, Avengers: Endgame, has said that he is already working on the script for the sequel.
I started writing the sequel (prequel?) three weeks ago. It’s a great character to write for, with a fantastic performance from Hemsworth. So it makes my job easier. I think the mission is to up the scale on this one, both emotionally and physically.”
Speaking further, he said:
There’s a lot of potential; it’s so interesting. And again, the beauty of an ambiguous ending is that there’s a lot of ways you can go. You can go forwards or backwards. Either way you look on the timeline are very interesting stories. It wasn’t something [discussed] on set. As soon as it got mentioned, that thought of a sequel, because, I guess, Netflix was enjoying the dailies and things were coming together and people were like, ‘Oh, this could be…’. You know, you talk about all these things. Is it a franchise? Is it all these things? Who knows until the movie comes out and the audience responds. They’ll be the ones who decide. But it was talked about.”
Directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo, Extraction stars Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a mercenary-for-hire who gets a shot at redemption when he is forced to protect a teenage boy in a city crawling with individuals bent on terminating him.
