4.48 million Nigerians have applied for the Npower job despite the available slot being 400,000, odunews.com reports.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, on Monday.
Odunews.com reports that the portal for the Batch-C recruitment for the N-Power under the National Social Investment Scheme, NSIP was opened on June 26th.
According to the ministry, only 400,000 applicants will be absorbed into the batch.
However, 16 days after the commencement of the exercise, the portal has registered more that 4.48 million applications.
Writing on her Twitter handle on Monday, the minister said: “My team and I continue to interface with stakeholders to ensure a successful transition for the @npower_ng. It has been 16 days since the portal opened and we have received 4.48 million applications to date.”
