The Gombe state Commissioner for Education, Dr Habu Dahiru, says seven more SS3 students of Government Girls Secondary School Doma have tested positive for COVID-19.
Dahiru spoke when he visited the student of the Government Science Secondary who had been taking his West Africa Senior Secondary School Examination from an isolation centre.
He said upon resumption of school the government conducted 1,100 tests on students.
“So far we have tested 1,100 students, out of which the first case is from Government Science Secondary School.
“We have identified another set of students; we only got the result yesterday. Seven of them have been found to be positive. We are making arrangements to evacuate them to the isolation centre.
“They will not miss their papers because they tested positive. The testing became easier because the governor approved 120m to establish a molecular laboratory.”
