Babafemi Ojudu who is the special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on political matters was suspended for going against the party’s directives.

In a statement, Ade Ajayi, the party’s publicity secretary, said Omotune Ojo, a former member of the house of representatives, is among those suspended.

Ojo is the son-in-law of Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the ruling party.

Ajayi said the affected members were suspended as a result of their failure to withdraw court cases against the party.

Ojudu and the 10 others had filed a suit to challenge the working committee led by Paul Omotosho, chairman of Ekiti APC, and also constantly criticised the administration of Kayode Fayemi, governor of the state.

Worried by their conduct, Ekiti APC had set up a disciplinary committee to probe them.

However, they declined the invitation of the 10-man disciplinary committee.

Through their counsel, Ademuyiwa Adeniyi, they wrote to Sola Ajigbolamu, chairman of the disciplinary committee, faulting the composition of the panel.

But in a letter dated September 23, 2020, Ajayi announced that they had been suspended indefinitely.

“The suspension is based on the recommendation of the investigative/disciplinary committee inaugurated by the SEC to investigate the disobedience of certain party members to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of 25th of June 2020, which directed members of the party not to institute any court action and to withdraw existing cases in court,” the statement read.

Others suspended are Wole Oluyede, Olusoga Owoeye, Dele Afolabi, Ayo Ajibade, Toyin Oluwasola, Akin Akomolafe, Bunmi Ogunleye Femi Adeleye and Bamigboye Adegoroye.
