Media Aide to the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti, Mr Adebisi Adeola, has called for more interactions between stakeholders of the party ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti, saying that PDP has a better chance of winning the election if aspirants embrace themselves and play the game fairly before the primary elections.

Adeola, who commended the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, ‘Seyi Makinde and other Southwest PDP leaders for their timely intervention in bringing stakeholders together, said every right-thinking leader should see such a kind gesture as genuine and appropriate.

“It is not lost on Governor Seyi Makinde as the only governor the party has in the Southwest to hold a strategic meeting with aspirants on why they should focus on winning elections and not see themselves as enemies.

“One thing we must do as patriotic party members is to disassociate ourselves from personal interest and focus on the main goal of winning the election so that Ekiti people can enjoy the dividends of democracy under the PDP,” Adeola said.

He maintained that apart from the APC in the federal, under the leadership of President Buhari who is doing everything to circumvent and jeopardize out electoral process, PDP will have to battle with APC in Ekiti State in 2022.

He added that what stakeholders in the party need at this point is unity and discipline to avoid fallout after the primary election, slated to hold by January 2022.

Commending the party Youth Leader, Mr Tope Amerijoye, for the success recorded in the just-concluded Youth Conference, Adeola said such a historic event was timely to reawaken the consciousness of the youths towards governance and create enabling environment for PDP youths to cross-fertilize ideas.

“Regardless of individual interest, such activity should be welcomed by the leadership of the party to further bring intellectuals together to discuss the prospect of the party in the coming elections,” Adeola concluded.
