Anambra state governor, Charles Soludo on Sunday wept over the beheading of Hon Okechukwu Okoye, who represented Aguata 11 Constituency, by gunmen at the weekend.
Gunmen kidnapped the lawmaker and his aide, Cyril Chiegboka, on May 15.
The severed head of the lawmaker was found on Saturday evening at Nnobi, Idemili North local government area.
As shocked Soludo placed a N10 million reward for anyone of group with information that could lead to arrest of the killers.
In a statement Sunday in Awka by his Chief Press Secretary, Chris Aburime, Soludo vowed that the action of the hoodlums would not cow the State in riding Anambra of criminal elements.
According to the statement :” Prof Soludo has received with shock and deep sadness the news of the gruesome murder of Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, member representing Aguata II Constituency at the State House of Assembly and his aide, Cyril Chiegboka.
” Both Hon Okoye and Cyril Chiegboka were kidnapped on the road by the heartless and barbaric murderers on 15th May.
