According to PUNCH Newspaper, online payment made by Nigerians has increased by 387% in the first quarter of 2022. This is contained in a report by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released on Monday.
5. Lesson Teacher Bags Life Imprisonment For Impregnating 14-year-old Pupil
Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on Monday sentenced a lesson teacher, Joseph Ibanga, to life imprisonment for defilement and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.
6. APC Primary: I See Danger Ahead – Fayose Tells Tinubu
Former governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has urged Tinubu to tread with caution as he prepares for the presidential primary. Fayose, in an open letter to Tinubu, warned the presidential hopeful that he “may be swimming against the political tide of the cabal in your party.”
7. Bandits Abduct Over 20 In Zamfara
At least, 20 people were abducted when bandits attacked the Furfuri community in the Bungudu local government area of Zamfara State, Sunday night. Among those abducted were two wives of a former Accountant-General of Zamfara State, Abu-Bello Furfuri.
8. UNIABUJA Dismisses Two Professors Over Sexual Harassment
University of Abuja’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, says the institution has gone tough on lecturers who are sexually harassing students, adding that two professors had been dismissed for the offence.
9. Owo Massacre: Survivors, Victims’ Family Groan As CAN, NGF Protest
Members of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria took to the streets of the ancient town to protest against the killing of worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo. The association led by its state chairman, Rev. Fr. Anslem Ologunowa, took the protest to the palace of Olowo of Owo, Ajibade Ogunoye III. The Nigeria Governors’ Forum represented by its chairman and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, also protested the attack. Fayemi, who paid a condolence visit to the Bishop of the the the the the Catholic Diocese of Ondo, Jude Arogundade, disclosed that the attack was sponsored.

A Presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, Dele Momodu, has disclosed that he did not see the delegates list until the day of the party’s primary. Momodu did not secure any of the delegates’ votes in the election which saw former vice president Atiku Abubakar emerge as the the the the winner.
